SECTION 8 COMPANY REGISTRATION
A Section 8 Company is a special type of non-profit organization formed with the objective of promoting charity, education, social welfare, art, science, sports, environmental protection, and similar activities. Unlike a Private Limited Company, a Section 8 Company does not distribute profits to its members. Instead, all income must be used strictly for the company’s charitable or social objectives.
A Section 8 Company can be promoted by a minimum of two persons, and there is no maximum limit on the number of members. It is known for its credibility, transparency, and legal recognition, making it the preferred structure for NGOs, social welfare groups, trusts, and non-profit foundations.
Due to its strong legal framework, government organizations, CSR donors, and international agencies prefer working with Section 8 Companies over informal entities like Societies or Trusts. The ability to receive grants, donations, CSR funds, and tax benefits under Sections 12A & 80G, makes the Section 8 Company structure highly attractive for social and charitable initiatives.
